Yogi Peace Club: Emma Barr

Emma Barr - Yogi Peace Club
The beaches and the lifestyle are in inspiration to my brand. We have so many amazing yoga studios, cafes and beaches.

Living on the Surf Coast and being healthy is just a way of life.

My friends are yogis, surfers, runners, artists, pilates obsessed, beach lovers. Torquay is also overflowing with delicious healthy option eateries to compliment the lifestyle.

I am constantly inspired by the people that live here and creativity in our community.

Hey Yogis, my name is Em and I created Yogi Peace Club in 2014. My hometown is Jan Juc where I live with my husband and two gorgeous children.

My dream for Yogi Peace Club is simple, I just want my yoga products to make people happy. The brand was derived from my love of yoga, and the beach. I wanted a brand that felt inclusive and made people feel like they are part of a Club, while invoking a feeling of community and inclusion.

My ideology for the brand is to bring the “inner yogi” out in everyone. With unique colors and prints I hope to inspire people to try yoga.

Yogi Peace Club distinctive designs are for the ecologically minded yogi. Designed by the ocean, Yogi Peace Club creates yoga products to inspire the inner yogi in all of us. Premium in creation Yogi Peace Club products are innovative and original.

My loves in life are simple - my family, yoga, the beach, happiness, health, being in nature, friends and fashion.

I grew up by the beach in Barwon Heads and have always had an interest in the Yogic lifestyle and philosophies. I practice Yoga every day. I have a diploma of Hatha Yoga and a Diploma of Yin Yoga.

Much of my design experience comes from working within the surf industry, where I have worked for the past 15 years. Creating Yogi Peace Club has given me the opportunity to express the things I love in design.

I chose to base my business on the Surf Coast because…

…I have lived in the region my whole life. I love the lifestyle and have many friends and contacts within the yoga and surf industries which makes it easy when looking for staff, yogis, photographers and models.

There is such a pool of talent in the region which I regularly tap into including doing collaborations with other brands such as Earth Bottles, Nude Nutrition, Upstate Yoga, Yoke Yoga, Ottway the Label.

The major advantage of having a business on the Surf Coast is community and its people. There are so many incredibly talented people on the Surf Coast. The beautiful beaches and the landscapes are also a huge advantage. I don’t have to travel far for photoshoots.

Also the fact that we are so close to Melbourne which has one of the largest ports in Australia which makes it easy for importing and exporting my products all over the world.

One thing that might surprise you…

Many people think we are really big brand with lots of staff! In fact I only have a very small team of three part time girls that help me achieve the goals for Yogi Peace Club. Without them I don’t know where I would be. Many customers think we are a big brand with large team and infrastructure. We are extremely hands on play many different roles, which always makes it fun and exciting.

My most popular products are…

…the Eco Friendly yoga mats that are designed for Yoga, Meditation and Yin. All the Yogi Peace Club Yoga mats are made 100% recycled plastic bottles on top and the base is made from natural rubber with no harmful PVC. There is a strong environmental philosophy behind the brand and its products.

We ship all of our products in compostable packaging and design and produce products that are not throw away - they are made to last.
