“My name is Craig Crosthwaite. I’m a photographer. As a kid friends called me “CC” and that became the inspiration for the name SeeSea Images.”
“I grew up in Geelong and spent all my spare time chasing waves up and down the Surf Coast. After completing a degree at Deakin University, I spent 30 years in the Advertising Industry eventually running my own agency.”
“After an early retirement, two years ago both my wife and I shifted to our long time holiday house in Anglesea. It was time to follow my passion for the coast, surfing and photography.”
“I have combined my love of the ocean and my sense of adventure with my newly acquired skills (an old dog can learn new tricks) to see where it leads me.”
Favourite place to shoot on the Surf Coast?
There are so many places I love to shoot and they change with the tide, weather and light conditions. Having said that, I live walking distance from Point Roadknight in Anglesea and it’s still my favourite go to place.
What are the advantages of doing business/living on the Surf Coast?
Lifestyle and fresh air!
I feel the business environment on the Surf Coast is vibrant and exciting. There are so many small businesses that are thinking outside the box and doing exciting things and I am learning a few new things for my own business.
What encouraged you to take those first steps for your business?
I started photography to learn a new skill but along the way I realised that others actually liked my shots and wanted to hang them on their walls. That’s an amazing feeling.
I also love the challenge of looking for ways to set up a successful business, but do it differently to traditional photo art businesses.
One thing that might surprise you…
The one thing on this journey that has surprised me about myself is that I thought I was happy, and I was, but now I’m really happy!!!
