Linda Gorfol: Photographer
The People Inspire me. I would say Torquay must be a place with the highest density in the world of small businesses and people turning their passion into business. It’s almost like it’s “the standard” here and I love it.
Linda Gorfol recently turned her passion for photography and capturing special moments into a business. Currently prints are the biggest aspect of her business, however moving forward her plan is to focus on product photoshoots and social media content

Linda was born in Slovakia and moved to Australia with her fiancé in January 2015. In 2018 she said moving to Torquay was “the best decision ever”.
Her creative journey started early, before the internet was even a ‘thing’. “I used to play with Corel (graphic program) on my dad’s work computer before I was 10. I always had a passion for visual content and marketing, but it took me a long time to realize that this is what I really wanted to do. After we moved to Torquay and I finished my studies, I had some free time and I wanted a hobby, so I bought a camera. After a year I knew that I was hooked, and I started planning how to make this my full-time job one day. I ended up studying marketing and project management, which has been very helpful in running my little business.”
Advantages of doing business on the Surf Coast?
From a photographers’ point of view, the landscape is amazing for prints and there are plenty of small businesses that need some nice shots.
One thing that might surprise people about your business?
Surf and ocean/landscape photography is a meditation for me. I do prints because I love anything printed. The feeling of seeing my work on paper/canvas is amazing and it makes me happy when someone wants to make my photo part of their home. ☺
Other business you are connecting and collaborating with?
At the moment I’m collaborating with my fiancé Dan. Since there are no framers in Torquay, during lockdown he started making frames for me. He might be starting his own Instagram soon. ☺ I have connected with so many amazing local creatives through Instagram. It’s amazing how everyone is supportive of each other. I’m very grateful for that.
What is your most popular product?
