Heroes Home Doctor is led by Dr Caroline Taylor-Walker who is an accomplished GP and is the owner and founder of not only Heroes Home Doctor, but Ministry of Skin in Torquay. Dr. Caroline’s passions include general practice, skin cancer and aesthetics.
Dr Caroline started the business in 2012 and has extensive training in all areas of medicine but it is her knack for building great relationships with her patients that truly sets her apart. Dr. Caroline considers it a privilege to be welcomed into your home and to help her local community.

“We deliver high-quality GP healthcare in the comfort of the home via home visits and telehealth.
And we’re not just here for urgent cases. Whether patients need a check-up, an immunisation or are feeling unwell, our GPs will provide the personalised care they desire and deserve for the whole family.
We offer home visits along the Surf Coast, from Jan Juc to Torquay and up to Armstrong Creek. Telehealth appointments are available further afield in the Geelong, Bellarine and Greater Surf Coast regions.”
What made you decide to operate your business here?
“After growing up with a disabled sister and observing firsthand the struggles of accessing a healthcare system set up for the able bodied, followed by the observation that GP surgeries were letting patients down by not seeing patients when they were too sick leave the house.
I felt a new model of healthcare was needed. A model that saw people when they actually needed the doctor, at their time of need, when most sick and vulnerable. A service that meet the patients’ needs and made seeing a doctor easy and created meaningful doctor-patient relationships.
The Surf Coast is the perfect place to embark on this endeavour, as immediately I felt that the local community would be welcoming and accepting of this new way of healthcare.

“Our service is often misunderstood as an aftercare or urgent care service. We are your regular GP. We see any normal GP concern like any other GP surgery does. The only difference is we come to your home or to you via Telehealth.”
Clinic GP visits are a heartsink. The grumpy receptionist is followed by the struggle of getting to the clinic, dragging yourself or kids into the car or taking time off work to transport an elderly relative. After an hour in the waiting room, you’re lucky to get 10 minutes with the doctor. Everything feels rushed, stressful, not personal and without care all heightened by the fact you may not feel well or have to manage 2 kids.
